    Altai Saker Falcons are tagged by transmitters

    As part of the continuation of the project to revive the Saker Falcon in Southern Siberia (news on the first results of the project see on link), three Saker Falcons were tagged with GPS/GSM logges of the Polish company Ecotone. The first falcon was tagged on June 11, the other two on June 17, 2017.

    Tracking of Sakers tagged dataloggers, confirms that poaching is causing the main damage to populations are falcons

    The 10 Saker (6 males and 4 females) tagged dataloggers in the Altai-Sayan region in 2016. After poaching season only 4 falcons (3 males and 1 female) continued migration.

    List of animal species listed in the Red Book of Russia or covered by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, CITES, been introduced for the purposes of Articles 226.1 and 258.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia. It includes the following species of birds of prey: Golden Eagle, Saker Falcon, Gyrfalcon, Peregrine Falcon.List of animal species listed in the Red Book of Russia or covered by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, CITES, been introduced for the purposes of Articles 226.1 and 258.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia. It includes the following species of birds of prey: Golden Eagle, Saker Falcon, Gyrfalcon, Peregrine Falcon.
