The main themes of the issue are the results of long-term surveys of the Saker Falcon in Russia and Kazakhstan and identification problem of semispecies and hiden hybrids in populations of the birds of prey. Another important theme of the issue is the results of attracting the small falcons, Imperial Eagles and White-Tailed Eagles into artificial nests in the Samara district, some aspects of the European Black Vulture breeding biology in the south-east of Kazakhstan, and several issues concerning conservation and research of raptors.

Another important theme of the issue is the research of raptors on the Ukok Plateau and review of threats of great concern to the region. Also in the issue: Excerpts from the methodology for assessing the harm caused to species of wildlife, confirmed by degree of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation on 28.4.2008, №107, lectures on the Eastern Imperial Eagle in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine that were presented in the 6th International Conference on Conservation of the Eastern Imperial Eagle, articles on bird mortality in connection to power lines and publications on Goshawk in Russia and Ukraine.
